The manufacturer has to apply for BEE Certification and complete the product testing and documentation required by Bureau of Energy Efficiency to get the product certified with BEE star rating.
BEE Star Label is a program run by the Indian government's Bureau of Energy Efficiency under Ministry of Power that promotes energy efficiency. The program provides information on the energy consumption of products and devices using different standardized methods.
The labelling program now covers a wide range of electrical appliances like Air Conditioner, Ceiling Fan etc.

PROCESS OF BEE CERTIFICATE REGISTRATION

Step 1 : The manufacturer needs to submit the samples and documents related to technical information to National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) accredited lab for testing and take the test report.

Step 2 : Gather the required documents and register on Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) portal with security deposit fee paid online.

Step 3 : The manufacturer needs to submit the application with all the necessary attachments to BEE signed by authorized signatory.

Step 4 : In case, any additional information or clarification is sought by BEE, the applicant needs to furnish the same.

Step 5 : Once the manufacturer company/brand registration is approved, BEE activates the link for the model registration.

Step 6 : The manufacturer needs to fill up the online application form.

Step 7 : The manufacturer needs to gather all the required documents and information and upload the same on BEE portal.

Step 8 : The manufacturer needs to make the online payment of model registration fee to BEE.

Step 9 : If any other information or clarification is asked by BEE, the applicant needs to furnish the same.

Step 10 : After the thorough verification of all submitted documents and information, BEE is satisfied, approves the application and grants with permission to start affixing the label on the product.
