The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has announced that the Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme (FMCS) — which governs the grant of BIS Standard Mark (ISI Mark) licences to manufacturers located outside India — will move to a fully online application mode with effect from 1st June 2026.
From this date, no offline / physical FMCS applications will be accepted by BIS. All new licence applications, renewals, inclusions and post-licence amendments must be filed exclusively through the BIS Manakonline portal — manakonline.in.

The new FMCS online journey on Manakonline is structured into clear, sequential steps — from account creation to licence issuance. Our team executes every stage on your behalf.
Access the official BIS portal at manakonline.in and click on the FMCS tile to reach the dedicated foreign manufacturer login page.
New applicants click Create Account, fill the Registration Form with name, DOB, email, mobile, nationality, ID and a strong password (8–20 characters).
BIS sends a verification link to the registered email and an OTP to the mobile. The account becomes active only after successful verification.
Sign in with username, password and captcha. Click the FMCS tile to reach the Applicant Dashboard showing profile, applications and licences.
Fill firm / office / factory details — name, country, address, sector, scale, registration document and Indian Representative information. Profile must be 100% complete.
Click Apply for New Licence. The application form opens in 9 sequential sections, auto-filled from your Organisation Profile wherever possible.
Application General Info, Management Details, Manufacturing Process, Packing & Brand, Testing & Inspection, Test Reports, Declaration, Preview, Pay Fee.
System calculates fees in INR; equivalent USD payment is made offline (NEFT etc.), and proof is uploaded. Application is sent to BIS for processing.
