An Authorised Indian Representative (AIR) is a legally registered entity in India that acts on behalf of a foreign manufacturer for the purpose of obtaining Indian regulatory certifications. Most Indian product regulations — including BIS CRS, ISI FMCS, WPC/ETA, TEC/MTCTE, and EPR — require a foreign manufacturer to appoint an AIR before any application can be submitted.
